Bio
Coach Dexter has worked as an assistant coach with the SCA High School Elite program since 2019-20. He has been an integral piece in the development of Sunrise alumni including the following McDonald's All-Americans and/or pros: Matas Buzelis, Gradey Dick, Mark Mitchell, Kennedy Chandler, Kendall Brown, Bobi Klintman, and Dillon Jones.
His interest specifically in furthering player development skills & techniques led him to take an internship with noted NBA player development coach and high-performance consultant, Phil Beckner. Phil maintains a client list that includes NBA professionals including Damian Lillard, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson among others.
Bringing that knowledge back to Sunrise Christian Academy, Coach Dexter continues to be an integral piece both on and off the court - placing the development of our roster as both people and players above everything else.
During his tenure with Sunrise Christian Academy, the Buffaloes have experienced key victories such as the 2021-22 NIBC (now EYBL Scholastic) Championship as well as a quarterfinal upset of the #1-seeded Montverde Academy team in the 2022-23 GEICO High School National Championships.
