Jacob Walker ('25) Commits to Sam Houston State
Senior Jacob Walker announced his commitment to Sam Houston State this week, becoming the first member of the 2024-25 Buffaloes squad to make an official college selection. While he had seen more recent attention since arriving at Sunrise with offers from programs like Arkansas State and Bradley University, Jacob pointed out that Sam Houston's constant enthusiasm for his future was a big factor in making the decision when he did.
"Sam Houston has always shown major love to me and my family ever since the recruiting process began. Now that I'm here (at Sunrise), Coach Kyle and Sunrise Christian are preparing me in the best way possible every day for those next steps along my journey."
Coach Kyle Lindsted expressed enthusiasm for Jacob's commitment, "I've known Coach Mudge for quite a while and I know that Jacob will be in great hands there. While we've all still got a great opportunity to grow over the next eight months here, we're going to be excited to see Jacob and his family become a part of something special being built down in Huntsville."
