Wichita, KS. - No. 1 Sunrise Christian Academy will have back-to-back matchups this upcoming Thursday and Friday. Sunrise will take on Spring Creek and Premier Academy at home before going on their next road trip.
Game #1
Sunrise will host Spring Creek Academy (TX) this Thursday, January 27th at 7 p.m. This will be the first matchup between these two teams. This will be one of three remaining home games left for Sunrise.
Mounir Benzegala has been the coach of Spring Creek since the 2018-2019 season. The roster is made up of Joey Ramirez, Belal Elshakery, Felipe Patino, Max Ndiaye, Nic Romanelli, Rj Foreman, Abdou Benzegala, Vojin Mastilovic, Kelvin Tamakloe, Vlad Karasev, Junior Sileu, and Mussa Zein. Eight of Spring Creek’s 12 players are from overseas.
Spring Creek won the Texas Christian Athletic League (TCAL) state championship. They are currently playing in the Southwest Athletic Interscholastic Conference (SWAIC) and are ranked No. 2 in the standings at 3-1.

Game #2
Sunrise will take on Premier Academy (TX) this Friday, January 28th at 7 p.m. The last meeting between these two teams was on December 12th, 2020. Sunrise won convincingly 73-40.
Premier is led by first-year head coach Dexter Young. The roster is made up of eight players; Sam Curtis, Dewayne Reliford, Kaylon Mason, Kobe Thompson, Isaiah Evans, Trevis Black, Adam Elbateawy, and Patrick Cole.
Premier has been challenged early in the season with matchups against La Lumiere and Donda Academy. A tough schedule for a team with a new head coach. Premier will be put to the test this Friday night.
