Opponents: Colorado Prep & PG Preview

Wichita, KS. - Sunrise Christian Academy opens up its season this weekend at home featuring a doubleheader for Sunrise and Sunrise Post Grad. On Friday, November 11th at 6:30 p.m., Sunrise will take on Colorado Prep. Afterward, Sunrise PG will play against Colorado Prep PG at 8 p.m. On Saturday, November 12th at noon, Sunrise will play against Colorado Prep PG. Afterward, Sunrise PG will play against Colorado Prep at 1:30 p.m. 


Colorado Prep was created in 2020 by Xavier Silas, son of former NBA player James Silas. James is the head coach of Colorado Prep in his third season with the program. Colorado Prep plays in The Grind Session, a national league of prep schools across the country. They play in the southwest division which includes; Accelerated Prep, Albuquerque Basketball Club Prep, Bella Vista Prep, Dream City Christian, and Phhoenix Prep. 


Colorado Prep is 0-2 on the season. They lost on opening night to Minnesota Prep by one point and lost to West Oaks the following day by 42 points. Colorado Prep is looking to bounce back and get back on track this weekend after that blowout loss. 


They are led by Abdul Bashir who is averaging 20 points after two games. The rest of the roster includes; Jamil Miller, Justin Daniels, Mekhi Jourdan, Aliou Diallo, Mathok Chol, Kayden Nation, Colin Hawkins, JJ Williams, Josiah Sanders, Alan Acevedo, and Steven Arou.
