Wichita, KS. - No. 1 Sunrise Christian Academy finishes the regular season 25-1 with a 99-40 win against Shaun Dumas Academy (SDA). We had a full house at the game and the crowd was electrifying on senior night.

Game Summary

Cam Corhen started senior night with a quick three and a tone-setting putback slam to give him 6 points in the opening minutes. Gradey Dick took over right after with 8 points in the first quarter.

The rest of Sunrise got involved in the first half as Mark Mitchell had 6 points, Layden Blocker had 8 points off the bench, and Bobi Klintman had 6 points off the bench. Dick led all scorers with 16 points at the half.

SDA was getting smothered defensively and could not get any open looks. Sunrise constantly forced turnovers and that allowed them to run and have fun in the open court. Sunrise held them to 5 points in the first quarter, 7 points in the second, and 5 points in the third. SDA had more points in the fourth quarter alone than they did in the first three quarters combined.

Luke Barnwell rotated his seniors in and gave them the opportunities to show out on senior night. Barnwell started the fourth quarter with five seniors in the lineup and once Sunrise got to the free-throw line he started to sub them out one at a time. That gave each senior their moment and a round of applause from the audience.

Honoring our two McDonald’s All-Americans’ Gradey Dick and Mark Mitchell.

It was a special night for our seniors and everybody on the team scored. After the game, we honored our 10 seniors and honored our two McDonald's All-American players' Dick and Mitchell.
